Father: A Son’s First Hero, A Daughter’s First Love

Fasten your seat belts as Father’s Day is just around the corner. This day you must admit that your father’s sacrifices, more for you than you can ever imagine. As far as the day is concerned, it was as a riposte to Mother’s Day.

The hardships as faced by a father are without any expectation of a return, not easily realised by children. He is the one to give courage to the kids and support them when they need it the most. Since the last 50 years, father son relation has improved very much. However, a daughter has always seen her father as first love.

An example of daughter showing love towards her father came in form of Sonora Smart Dodd who initiated for father’s day. She was in a church, while she was hearing sermon of Mother’s Day, she came across the idea to celebrate father’s day, in the same way.

Sonora Smart Dodd went to meet YMCA and church representatives and urged the need to celebrate father’s day in 1909. In 1910, the church and YMCA started celebrating Father’s Day. However, in 1972, it was U.S President Richard Nixon to pass the bill for official celebration of Father’s Day.
