Mother’s Day, Behind the Curtains of Time

A true saying charity begins home; perhaps everything does starts from here. As a household personality, the mother teaches her children how to think beyond limitations that lies within them. The concept of Mother's Day evolved when after the outcome of Civil War because of women protesting over the loss of lives of their sons.

Mothers are known as nurturing, warm, and accepting although they are not ‘saints’. They too can make mistakes but they always try their best and sacrifice all for their children. Think about someone who had to bear all carrying you for nine long months. A mother relation with her daughter is something special whereas you cannot express in words, what the bond between the son and her really is.

Being a mother is all about taking responsibility for all things related to their children. It is hard to express the sentiments of her towards her children other than calling it ‘unconditional’. It is never easy task to take care of child especially when you are a single mother. You have to look after home, manage office routine, concentrate on better education and at the end of the day look after babies.
People love to celebrate Mother’s Day every year but at what cost when you are ignoring the one at your home. In 1858, Anna Reeves Jarvis came across the idea to dedicate a day for the greatest gifts of God to children. As a social activist, she also urged men to settle the disputes and hostilities towards women especially mothers.

The author of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic", Juulia Ward Howe in 1872 proposed the idea of celebrating annual Mother’s Day for accomplishment of peace. Today Mother’s Day has transformed into a global phenomenon and still continues to grow strong. On this momentous occasion, try giving your mother a thoughtful card or book rather than mere flowers. If you are unable to do it, then just try to spend quality time and appreciate her services she has rendered for you.
